Mrs. Brenda Careless has announced her retirement from Norwalk Catholic School!
Mrs. Careless graduated from St. Paul High School in 1983. She returned to her alma mater in August of 1988 to start her teaching career. She has spent 32 years in the classroom, with over 25 years teaching 4th grade.
“Mrs. Careless has always went above and beyond for her students. She will be greatly missed, as she was an integral part of our elementary staff with her dedication to Catholic Education,” said Norwalk Catholic School Elementary Principal Melissa Englert
“Brenda has a heart of gold! She truly had a love for St. Paul Elementary and always wanted the best for her students” said Norwalk Catholic School Administrative Assistant, Natalie Livengood.
Over the years, Mrs. Careless has had many of students come through her classroom, she had led countless class retreat to Put-In-Bay and Kelley’s Island, helped with 4th Grade Ohio history fair and taught science lessons with Veggie U. Mrs. Careless also held the position as High School Flag Corps Advisor for four years.
Mrs. Careless was known as the “Copy Machine Savior” from her long time co-teacher, Mrs. Lynda Bungard. She went on to say “Brenda was always right there to lend a helping hand to anyone.”
Norwalk Catholic School president, Martin Linder, praised Mrs. Careless by saying, “Mrs. Careless’ dedication to Catholic Education is a model for all of us. We wish her well in retirement and once a Flyer…. Always a Flyer!”
